Brussels - The Heart of Europe

Last weekend, i visited Brussels, the capiltal of Belgium with my friends..

Oh! it was really lovely..a short and sweet trip..

The best part was that i met some wonderful people..my friend's friends..mast infy gang!!

It was a one day trip..and we had oodles of fun..

Started not so early..around 7 in the morning..

3 of our friends failed to catch the bus..

And we had a real tough time convincing the French driver to wait for our friends..

Unfortunately..he dint stop...The language problem became a real issue.--((

After that...we sang and sang........

Like me, Shanthi, Ashish and Subrot ( 2 newly found Oriya frds of mine) also like old hindi melodies...
and we sang and sang........

Like we use to do in our college days!!!

Kahin door jab din dhal jayee!!
Saanjh ke dulhan badan churaye!!
chupke se aaye!!

Mere khayalon kein aangan mein..

Koi sapno ke deep jalaye!!

Kabhi yu hee jab huee oojhal saansen!
Bhar aaye bethe bethe jab yuh hee aankhen!

kab hi machalke, pyar se jhalke..
chue koi mujhe, par nazar naa aaye!!

kahin to yeh dil kahin mil nahin pate..

Kahin pe nikal aaye janmon ke naatein!

Dhani se uljhan, kare apna mann..

apna he hoke sahe dard paraye!

Dil jane mere saare bhed yeh ghare..

ho gaye kese mere sapne suhenre..

Yeh mere sapne..yahi to hai apne..
Mujhe juda naa honge..milke yeh saaye..

Kahin door jab din dhal jayee!!
Saanjh ke dulhan badan churaye!!
chupke se aaye!!

Somehow maintained the tradition of buying smthing from the recently discovered city..This time a brown t-shirt..showing BRUSSELS in bold!
Want to end this somewhat scattered post with a lovely poem:
http://www.kididdles.com/lyrics/m003.html

Mary had a little lamb,
Little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow

And everywhere that Mary went,
Mary went, Mary went,
Everywhere that Mary went
The lamb was sure to go

It followed her to school one day
School one day, school one day
It followed her to school one day
Which was against the rules.

It made the children laugh and play,
Laugh and play, laugh and play,
It made the children laugh and play
To see a lamb at school

And so the teacher turned it out,
Turned it out, turned it out,
And so the teacher turned it out,
But still it lingered near

And waited patiently about,
Patiently about, patiently about,
And waited patiently about
Till Mary did appear"

Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
Love Mary so? Love Mary so?"
Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
The eager children cry

"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."
Loves the lamb, you know, loves the lamb, you know"
Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."
The teacher did reply

Serendipity..

The magic of love and the mystery of destiny..

One of my friends gave me this movie yest!!

And i thought of watching it on a weekday. or to be precise weeknight only..Not sure though such a word exists or not!!

Intiially i thought that Sara is overacting..

What is the fuss abt sharing her details with somebody she feels, she likes soo much!!!

But then, slowly my interest started developing in this short n sweet movie!!!!

I am a libran, and they for sure like such sweet dramatic romantic twists...

So my dinner remained untouched..while i discovered how this great guy Jonathan along with his friend ..tried their best--searching here and there for a small clue.... just to have a glimpse of anything related to her crush Sara....

Really felt bad for the character Hally...

For she was so sweet and how much she liked Jonathan..

And how many times John lied to her that he also likes her..

But then this is the saddest part of life...

You may not like somebody who likes you from the core of his/her heart!!

No wonder, so many love triangles are made n broken almost every second...

This movie also depicts another beautiful aspect of life..that how a gal looks into a man's heart to find out if he really loves her..

If she really means the world to him..

If his "Yes" really means a yes..

But then....let a mystery remain a mystery...

because when the heart starts to unveil the love it has for the bud inside....

everything looks so pure and puerile..

Life's lessons are learnt this way..

Let the clock inside the heart keep on beating....

for if the feeling is pure...

your action can never be impure..

For nothing is more magical than this beautiful magic of love at first sight...

CRY...Child Relief and You!!

I had donated a mere amount of INR 1200 last year.

And just checked my inbox after a gap..

I have received a thanks mail from CRY...
want to share it with all!!

.
.
.
.
GET INVOLVED: http://www.cry.org/getinvolved/act.html

Dear Friend,
It has been a while since we, CRY and you, worked together, in support of child rights. The reason I write to you today is to share with you how some of the work we were involved in together, has now become a significant symbol of change. For us, at CRY, it is very encouraging to see how steadfast support can help the marginalized find their voice and walk towards a better tomorrow, one that will last forever.
Your support in the past has helped CRY - Child Rights and You to make choices that uphold children's rights; work with grassroots initiatives that question age old biases of caste and gender and include children and parents in decisions that affect their joint future. All this, to bring about a lasting change in the life of over 1.5 million children across 18 states in India, including Latur in Maharshtra.
A coummunity living in one of the most backward areas of Maharashtra, was in a constant struggle for survival. Little wonder then, the children in this part of Latur district were denied their basic rights to education, health and a normal childhood. They were forced to work to supplement the family income and to carry out household chores. CRY together with Kalapandari Magasvargiya and Adivasi Gramin Vikas Sanstha (KMAGVS) helped to change all that.
KMAGVS rightfully addressed the root causes - livelihood issues faced by parents and the state's apathy. Efforts were made to:
Help the community see the link between child rights violations and the larger issues of livelihood and traditional biases. CRY supported them in campaigns and programmes that mobilized the community, enabling awareness and state intervention.
Ensure every child's right to development, 100% education and access to health services across 65 villages.CRY therefore:
Helped in funding the non-formal education centres and the pre-primary centers that bridged the gap till formal state run schools could be started.
Facilitated training to ensure accountability and effectiveness of the programme.
Introduced KMAGVS to other like minded NGO's thus enabling the sharing of experiences, learnings and providing a platform to take local issues at the state and national level.
The results were no doubt encouraging.
Children were enrolled and encouraged to attend 5 newly activated government schools.
Grants were passed for 3 additional schools. 10 more teachers joined and 4 classrooms as well as toilets were constructed.
6 primary health centers were activated and all newborns immunized.
7 panchayats actively participated in a campaign against child labour.
All 65 villages were covered in a campaign against child marriage.
Collective farming has now been initiated to enhance the economic status.
Needless to say, we would not have been able to achieve much without your assistance. Yet, there are many communities in Maharashtra and India that need to see a future which upholds their dignity and holds a promise of change. We look forward to your steadfast support. Together, we can ensure that every child is restored the rights that we, as a society and the ones who elect the government owe him or her.
With faith and goodwill,Irwin FernandesRegional Director - West

Their 'what you can do' column says:
Lastly,
Give a thought.
Give a shoulder.
Give anything you can to this movement for child rights.
And most of all give up your indifference.

The Ashley's Triangle /_\

The title gives an impression about something
like a love triangle--or a maths problem..or smthing unknown...

Well...the reality is today in office, i was called to diagnose something...and the place was surrounded by a web of wires..after i placed my request for things one by one...

Soon, the place was given the name "The Ashley's Triangle" by one of the members there...
I m not sure though, he meant the same..Any pointers to discover this, please pour in..

Well, the word "diagnose" gives a vibe as if i am a doctor:-)))

Sounds funny, but yes, this is my new name here..
And hence my tasks here can be easily discovered...

I am supposed to fix a crash..bug...
I have also inserted some bugs earlier...
Everybody gets his or her share...and so i am facing this day..for some other's bugs though:::)))

Surprisingly..i have to take the corrupted equipments in a trolley to my lab...Just like patients are taken on a bed to the emergency ward..

Like every human operation, i also pray for my operation on the equipment to be successful..
And luckily dear GOD listens to my prayers also..

But there is a difference, unlike a doctor who is called before to take an appointment..i am immediately called to come and fix the patient...my equipment...

Just like a doctor moves with a stethoscope..i move with my set of tools...
And i just love to carry my tools..because all the patients are not in a state to reach the hospital..

And just like a doctor needs some more tools at the site...i also need some..most important being the laptop..
Then comes the parade..People are stuck here and there helping me..
The actual operation time is far less...

So here i am ...this time Mumma's Pooja....For she is our doctor in many ways...
So Mumma now 2 of your daughters are doctors..
One cures the real patients...
Other just cures the virtual ones...

And your 3rd daughter.....
She is the plethora of peace and wisdom..So when the EQ of the other 2 go down, she is always there to recharge them..))

Thank You Mumma...for helping me in reaching a destination where i can immensely enjoy...
Thank You Papa too!!
The fact is Mummy Papa are the better halves of each other...
So thanking just one works!!

LoveYou always..
Ur pooja

A Nail in the Fence

One of my best frds forwarded this story again in a mail..

And this is smthing we all know..but then..we all keep on creating situations where we fst put a nail..and then say sorry to take out that nail..

But the wall can never be the same´:-((
This is the deepest n saddest part of journey called life...

A word once gone is gone for ever..
The time lost is lost for ever..
An occasion gone is also gone..

So, next time i utter a word..got to be careful...
rather people like me shd be extra careful..

How many times i have hurt the people so close to me..
How many times i have hurt so many strangers by saying things i dint mean..
How many times i have degraded the value of my friendship with so many angels.....

All these moments are gone..for ever i guess.....
But still hope i really think

bfr i speak..
bfr i act..
bfr i feel bad for anyone..
bfr i degrade anyone.
bfr i approach someone with a prejudiced mindset...
bfr i feel someone has stopped loving me..

So ..here i am ...
all set for August...
he he today is 1-8-9----cool!!!
with a golden advice.......

No sorry..
No sympathy....

Gather all the lovely dew n enrich the day of urs as well as others......

Attaching Ruchi's mail....for it is full of Golden words°°

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper.
His Father gave him a bag of nailsand told him that every time he lost his
temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.
The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to
drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the ! day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he
was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails
were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence He said, "You
have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be
the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put
a knife in a man and draw it out.

It won't matter how many times you say "I'm
sorry", the wound is still there. A verbal
wound is as bad as a physical one.

Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They
make you smile and encourage you to succeed.

They lend an ear, they share words of praise
and they always want to open their hearts to us."

YOU ARE MY FRIEND AND I AM HONORED!

Please forgive me if I have ever left a hole.
