Maa! please open the door

Last weekend, I accompanied my family to visit our paternal ancestral place in Haryana for some religious ceremonies.
I was gazing outside the window of my car, trying to catch all the lovely moments running outside the multi-dimensions of this window.
Can't help remembering the poem "Daffodils", the one we used to enjoy reading in our Gulmohar English book in our school days..

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

William Wordsworth

We came across a countryside, where I saw a boy aged ard 5 yrs, weeping loudly..
Knocking loudly on the entrance gate of his home..
And was continuously shouting..
Mummy !! Mummy!!!
Mummy pleassssssse open the door~~~~
Pleaseeeeeeee Maa.........
Pleasssssssse

Though this moment flashed across my eyes just for a second or 2..
but somewhere had a deep impact on my heart!

I just turned my face towards my mother..
only to re-inforce my belief that mother is surely an angel sent by God, to make us believe that we have been brought on earth by her to do something big..and we must pass on this magnanimous thought to all our generations.

I was quite elated after reaching our destination,
a place that maps us back to our roots, established somewhere in the year 1554, when some of my Grand Grand.. Parents, sacrificed their lives in the war..
A place that helps me descent to my self.
A place where I am known by our surname, Dewan , that makes me Pooja Dewan..
I just find it too royal..
I am so proud of my roots!

In-between the ceremonies, each one of us was asked to give a promise to try our best to give back to our soil, to the mother earth and to our great great great ...Grandmothers who have always loved and cared for us from the cores of their loveliest Hearts!

My mother and maasiji have been married in the same khaandaan..
I got a chance to meet their family as well..
And I was too happy to have so many discussions with my cousin brother, during our return journey..

I was baselessly expressing my anger over the reservation issue and cursing people here and there.., that time my cousin asked me one question and I had no answer:

He told me since so many centuries , are not the upper middle class enjoying all the benefits..
Isn't it our duty to pay back to the less priviliged class..
We can claim to stop reservation only when we take the responsibilty to teach them + morally and financially support their education.

My cousin has surely entered my admirers' list..
He has got the finest of brains, but he has dedicated his life to serving children..
He along with my Bhabhi are running their own creche and coaching academy..
And in a short span, I can see his so many fans in the city..
His own kids are a race ahead as well.
His eldest son has recently secured 4th rank in the Northern region Aryabhatta Entrance test..

I happened to meet some of his students as well..
While some of them wanted to be like the star icon of their city ""Kalpana Chawla"",
others wanted to be models..some wanted to be scientists..some were too busy preparing for FIITJEE entrance tests....

His aim of helping the weaker sections of society is also coming up so well..
He plans to open some classroom sessions for poor kids in many cities in collaboration with the existing schools or may be his own school sometime..
He was asking for ways to get some sort of financial support from foundations like Infosys, but I had no pointers in my mind..
Anybody having any pointers, please let me know..

May be we also become a part of a revolution led by him!

I came across many famous wordings in his creche.Want to share some of them:

1. 30 years from now, it won't matter what shoes you wore,
how your hair looked or the jeans you bought.
What will matter is what you learnt and how you used it!!

2. I work hard, I don't work miracles!

3. Success is a journey, not a destination.

4. People may doubt, what you say
But they will always believe, what you do.

5. There's never a wrong time to do the right thing.

6. Don't shout, speak softly!

7. yada yada hi dharmasya
glanir bhavati bharata
abhyutthanam adharmasya
tadatmanam srjamy aham

"Whenever there is decay of righteousness O! Bharatha
And a rise of unrighteousness
then I manifest Myself!" - Lord Vishnu

The folk songs sung on my ancestral place last Sunday, keep on running in my mind!

Meri Daadi ke Paayal Baaje.....
Tann Mann Jhoom Jhoom Jhoom..

Puju, I do always read your blogs, but this one and a few previous one are the best. I think blogging is a good habit. Everyone has feeling and emotions, but a few have the audacity to make them public.....somehow I can't muster enough courage to do it myself...like to keep them all wrapped up and hidden inside...maybe someday I will also write my first blog.

Thanks everyone for your support!

Hope i keep on honing this hobby of mine.
While I was learning things in this visit of mine, i realised that alphabet "i" is always written as singular, signifying that we are so insignificant without the mercy of God and the love of our dear ones.
